I’m two weeks into Project 333 and feeling good! I have created some new outfits I really love, made progress in rounding out my fall capsule wardrobe, and have been able to donate and sell several of the clothing items I decided aren’t ones I love. All of this, just as the weather is finally starting to cool down and feel like fall.
I’ve also found the daily photos I’m taking to document the process to be really helpful. For a reason I can’t quite explain, sometimes an outfit looks different in the mirror than in a photo. It can help me see an unflattering shirt tuck, an unnecessary accessory, or even just a missed opportunity to style something better.
To get the most from this process, I’m aiming to take a step back at the end of each week and reflect on what worked, what didn’t and where I want to take my wardrobe in the weeks ahead.
HERE’S A LOOK BACK AT WEEK 2…
The summer weather continued into this week, so my favorite shorts made a few more appearances. I’m a big fan of mixing patterns, and thought the stripes and floral worked particularly well here. This shirt was a new find from the H&M Conscious line, filling my need for a basic long sleeve tee. It’s stretchy, comfy and the arms actually hold their shape all day long! I can see myself wearing this multiple times each week.
This denim top is the perfect piece of versatility (see my recent post on how to style it five different ways). It was = another find from the H&M Conscious line and under $30.
Having a smaller wardrobe is making me pretty good at finding new ways to combine my clothes, and I’m really loving the results. I’ve had this sweater for a while and have always worn it alone. Not for any reason other than the fact that I didn’t need to try to wear it in new and different ways. But I think I like this look even better 😉
Who doesn’t love a chunky sweater? I was so happy to find one with 3/4-length sleeves to wear on those in-between fall days.
This was probably my favorite look of the week! I was so excited to find this denim jacket in the H&M Conscious line (my third find from that line in this week’s round-up). It’s perfect. It’s fitted, stretchy and in a shade that matches everything. And it’s just $35!
Quick PSA: Did you know that by donating a few used items (clothing, sheets, etc.) at your local H&M store you get a coupon for 15% off your next purchase? You can read more about H&M’s recycling program here.
In my world there is no such thing as too much denim. I love the denim on denim look, and this outfit was no exception. I’m mostly planning to wear this tank top under sweaters for the fall, so it was fun to be able to wear it solo once this season.
Fall is here, so bring on all the plaid! I love that fall brings along a number of accessories that can change up an outfit each time you wear it. Just add a scarf, a vest or a belt and you’ve got a whole new look.
I’d love to hear what you go to piece is for the fall! Let me know below.
